ABOUT

Brianne Kerr set up her own freelance arts publicity business 2004 when she was awarded a Business Enterprise Grant from Positively Wellington Business. She has built a solid reputation as an effective and pro-active freelance publicist.

 

Bri was born in Thames; raised in mighty Timaru; studied acting in Christchurch at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts (NASDA), graduating 2001 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts; Bri is now based in the cultural capital, Wellington.

 

As the publicist for numerous diverse artistic projects in the last fourteen years Bri has obtained extensive media coverage and used her expertise to get bums on seats.

 

Most recently Bri has worked as Marketing Co-Ordinator for the New Zealand Festival (2017-2018), Wellington Jazz Festival (2018), Publicist for Lexus Song Quest (2018), New Zealand Improv Festival (2018), Kia Mau Festival (2015-current), Marketing Manger for New Zealand Fringe Festival (2011-2017), CubaDupa (2014-2017), Young and Hungry Festival of New Theatre (2005-2017) and Hutt Winter Festival (2017), and as the publicist for several independent theatre works at BATS Theatre and Circa Theatre.

 

Bri can been seen acting with The Bacchanals and spends her spare time reading, enjoying plays, singing show tunes and drinking far too much coffee.

 

 

As a publicist I can…

 

  • Create a publicity plan and timeline

  • Circulate an effective Media Releases to Paper, Radio, TV, Web and Direct mail

  • Pitch stories and features to the Media

  • Co-ordinate Media interviews and photo shoots

  • Liaise with Photographer/Designer/Art Director and oversee essential campaign production work

  • Manage Collateral Marketing (Print, Advertising, Poster Distribution, Web Presence, Social Media)

  • Ensure reviewers/VIP’s are aware and invited

  • Collect press clippings and media coverage results for your archives

  • Meet regularly with you/your team to develop long-range Publicity goals
